Field Trips

Preschool Programs offer authentic farm experiences and basic respect for nature. Children feed goats and pigs, find warm eggs in the chicken coop, and taste fresh garden produce. They witness respect for the land and all creatures exhibited in Earth-friendly farming and energy production.

Elementary Programs tour the farm, harvest produce, play with the goats, feed the pigs, hold chickens, explore the water cycle and the origins of our food. Children explore the cycles and rhythms of the natural world, while beginning to understand that these times call for a new way of being in the world.

Middle School Programs explore the idea of sustainability while touring the farm, living village, renewable energy system, and biodiesel refinery. Middle schoolers are extremely interested in how things work, what problems we are facing, and how we can solve them. We respect and encourage this inspiring creativity, while offering ideas for the future.

High School Programs explore the idea of sustainability and human responsibility while touring the farm, living village, renewable energy system, and biodiesel refinery. The environmental crisis is placed in an historical context, and students are empowered with the knowledge that their positive choices shape the future.
